As a Clinical Epidemiologist with Ontario Health, Dr. Immaculate Nevis comes to AMAPCEO with lots of leadership experience guiding teams, specifically pertaining to rebuilding frameworks and evaluating health technology. With a PhD in Clinical Epidemiology from McMaster University, a Master’s degree in Epidemiology from Western University, and a Medical degree from India, she has served as a medical officer and practicing physician in a range of dynamic, and often resource constrained environments across India, Oman and Saudi Arabia.
Active in her union since 2013, she has served on the bargaining team, a delegate, a Health and Safety Representative, a Workplace Representative, and ERC representative. In 2018 she was elected Vice Chair of the Midtown District which encouraged her to run for Director for the 2020 term. As a Director, Immaculate is especially passionate about high quality member engagement. She developed her skills for engagement, administration, and management by completing her MBA at Brock University, where she is now an Adjunct Professor.
Dr. Nevis is passionate about bettering the lives of people of Ontario through high-level of engagement and empowerment. She is a dedicated wife, a proud mother of two boys and a supporter of the Canadian Foundation for Women’s Health and Bladder Cancer Canada.
