2020–2023 Tentative Agreement - Ontario Health - Quality Unit

Your AMAPCEO Bargaining Team and the OHQ Employer have reached a tentative agreement on a new contract to run retroactively to 2020 and through to 2023. Your bargaining team is unanimously recommending ratification.

The following is a summary of highlights only.


A three-year contract from April 1, 2020 until March 31, 2023.

Salary Increases

Across-the-board salary increases of 1 per cent a year, retroactive to April 1, 2020. These increases apply to salaries and the minimums and maximums of each salary band. 

Reopener Language

Should Bill 124 (the government’s public sector wage restraint legislation) be found to be unconstitutional, repealed, or amended, AMAPCEO and the OHQ Employer will meet and renegotiate any monetary issues.

Improvements to Bereavement Leave

The tentative agreement:

  • brings AMAPCEO member entitlements in line with non-unionized entitlements,
  • increases access to number of bereavement days for some relatives, and
  • includes additional relatives in the list.

Massage Therapy

The tentative agreement:

  • raises the per-visit cap for massage therapy from the current $35 per visit to:
    • $44 per visit in the first year of the agreement,
    • $53 per visit in the second year, and
    • $63 per visit in the third; and
  • applies these increases retroactively to April 1, 2020.

Psychologist Services

The tentative agreement:

  • will now cover services provided by family therapists and marriage counsellors.


Members at OHQ ratified the agreement on April 1, 2022.
