AMAPCEO wins insurance coverage for continuous blood glucose monitors
Publish date: Wednesday, April 29, 2020 update
Members in the Ontario Public Service (OPS) and their dependents will now have benefits coverage for continuous blood glucose monitoring, after AMAPCEO successfully negotiated a settlement with the OPS Employer earlier this week.
“Regular blood sugar monitoring is critical when managing diabetes,” said President Dave Bulmer. “They’re an essential medical device that can prevent major complications and even save lives. I’m pleased we were able to secure coverage for AMAPCEO members and their families.”
Continous blood glucose monitors will be covered for members and their dependents starting April 27, 2020. Coverage is retroactive to January 1, 2019 provided members provide a receipt for their past purchase and make their claim before September 30, 2020.
