Environmental Statement

Adopted by the Board of Directors, April 2021

AMAPCEO will continue to partner with and support organizations that are committed to protecting natural resources, promoting environmental stewardship, and sustainable practices while contributing constructively to the public dialogue related to this.

AMAPCEO has established a number of measures to help preserve natural resources and prevent pollution:

  • Reduce waste going to the landfill by minimizing amount of waste produced.
    • Example: Strive for paperless meetings and office culture
  • Responsibly reuse, recycle and dispose of all waste.
    • Example: Reuse and repurpose IT equipment
  • Purchase and use environmentally responsible (recyclable, biodegradable, etc.) products.
    • Example: At lunches, use only reusable or biodegradable plates and cutlery
  • Involve all activists, members, and staff in environmental issues to instill a sense of environmental responsibility.
    • Example: Solicit ideas for improvement, empower individuals to contribute
  • Assess environmental impact of our office practices and seek to eliminate any that pose harm to the environment when economically and operationally practical.
    • Example: Set a goal of eliminating all single use plastics, work towards eliminating cans
  • Target areas for energy savings in the office.
    • Example: Lights connected to sensors

We would like to acknowledge Tkaronto, a Mohawk word meaning “the place in the water where the trees are standing.”

The AMAPCEO office is on the traditional unceded territory of Haudenosaunee speaking nations, including the Wendat, Seneca and Mohawk. These nations have been here since time immemorial and were in more recent times joined by the Mississaugas of the Credit.
