What is Asian Heritage Month and what is this year’s theme?
Asian Heritage Month is an opportunity to learn more about the diverse culture and history of Asian communities in Canada, as well as to acknowledge the many achievements and contributions of people of Asian origin who, throughout history, have done so much to make Canada the country we know and love.
In 2024, the theme “Asian Trailblazers - Stories of Courage and Heritage“ encapsulates the remarkable journeys, contributions, and resilience of Asian communities in Canada. It reflects the historical struggles and triumphs of Asians who paved the way for future generations, overcoming obstacles and adversities to establish themselves and enrich the cultural tapestry of the nation.
Through this theme, the joint virtual event by the East Asian Network Group (EANG) and the South Asian Network (SAN) aims to celebrate the courage, achievements, and diverse heritage of Asian Canadians. It highlights the significant strides made over the past two centuries, acknowledging the challenges faced and the resilience displayed in forging a path toward success and inclusion.
