May 5 is National Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, Two Spirit + Awareness Day, a time when the Indigenous community and our allies wear red and gather to remember, honor, and give voice to women whose stories have not been heard.

The AMAPCEO Indigenous Circle and Pride Caucus invites AMAPCEO members to their Indigenous Circles' Annual Missing Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, Two Spirit + virtual event on Friday, May 10 at noon via zoom.

The Indigenous Circle, in collaboration with the Pride Caucus, have invited guest speakers Hilda Anderson- Pyrz, Chair of the National Family and Survivors Circle in Canada, and Knowledge Keeper, Diane Kilby of the Grand River Metis Council, to our virtual event this year.

Take action by participating in these virtual events and attending any other events in your communities on and around May 5.

Please RSVP to attend and to receive the Zoom link.

Read biographies for Hilda Anderson-Pyrz and Diane Kilby.

We would like to acknowledge Tkaronto, a Mohawk word meaning “the place in the water where the trees are standing.”

The AMAPCEO office is on the traditional unceded territory of Haudenosaunee speaking nations, including the Wendat, Seneca and Mohawk. These nations have been here since time immemorial and were in more recent times joined by the Mississaugas of the Credit.
