Toronto City Council Staff Cost of Living Increase

  • Current Introduction
  • Complete

AMAPCEO has made it very clear to your Employer, the City of Toronto, that we support any and all compensation increases for Toronto City Council staff.

But despite all City Councillors and offices receiving a salary envelope including an approved 2.5% cost of living increase for staff, we have heard conflicting information, with staff from some offices reporting that they have received cost of living increases, and others saying that they have not.

Our goal, as always, is transparency, consistency, and fairness for all. We want to approach your Employer and advocate for cost of living increases to be implemented across the board.

To do that, though, we need your help.

We are asking all Toronto City Council staff to fill out the following information, letting us know if you have received your cost of living increase and what office you work in.

Please know that this information will remain completely anonymous. Your name will not be attached to any information we take to the Employer to advocate for consistent increases for all staff.

If you have not received your cost of living increase, we also invite you to provide supporting documentation demonstrating this, such as a recent pay stub. You are not required to do so, but we may need proof to bring to the Employer that increases have not been provided.

Your information will be kept secure and strictly confidential. If you choose to share your pay stub, we encourage you to redact or obscure any information (such as Social Insurance Number, address, etc.) you are not comfortable sharing.

We would like to acknowledge Tkaronto, a Mohawk word meaning “the place in the water where the trees are standing.”

The AMAPCEO office is on the traditional unceded territory of Haudenosaunee speaking nations, including the Wendat, Seneca and Mohawk. These nations have been here since time immemorial and were in more recent times joined by the Mississaugas of the Credit.
