Labour Day first became a statutory holiday in Canada in 1894. Historically, workers have marked the day with parades, speeches, and picnics to promote working-class solidarity. Today, Labour Day remains a statutory holiday with many devoting the holiday to leisure activity and family time.
Join AMAPCEO at the Toronto Labour Day Parade
AMAPCEO leadership will be present at the 2026 Toronto & York Region Labour Council (TYRLC) Labour Day Parade on Monday, September 7.
Meeting location and parade route details
Our AMAPCEO contingent will be led by Victoria Marshall, Midtown District Director, and we will be meeting at the corner of Queen St. W and University Ave. We will begin our march at 9:30am ET going west along Queen W to Dufferin, and then marching south on Dufferin into the CNE grounds.
If you cannot meet at the starting point, feel free to join us anytime along the route - just look for the AMAPCEO flag! Please dress accordingly and be sure to bring along water and sunscreen for the march.
Deadline to register
The deadline to register and secure a CNE wristband has passed at noon ET on Wednesday, September 2, 2026. CNE wristbands will not be available for those that have not registered for our march.
