The month of October is designated as Latin American Heritage Month by the Parliament of Canada in 2018. This important month highlights the significant contribution of Latin American communities to the social, economic, political, and cultural fabric of Canada. It is an opportunity to learn more about Latin American heritage and culture and to honour the rich traditions of Canadians of Latin American origin.
Canadians of Latin American origin make up a large and growing community in Canada, enriching the national fabric with diverse and vibrant cultures, cuisine, music, dance, and more. Members of the Latin American community play an important role in Canada’s growth and prosperity.
AMAPCEO’s own Latinx Caucus will work to foster equitable and barrier-free workplaces for Latinx members represented by AMAPCEO. With a mission to amplify Latinx voices, build the community, and dismantle systemic discrimination, and racism within workplaces, the AMAPCEO Latinx community collaborates with AMAPCEO and fellow equity-seeking groups to empower Latinx members and support their professional growth and development.
