Dave Bulmer has been re-elected President of AMAPCEO, a union representing over 13,250 professional employees. The vote was held at the 22nd Annual Delegates Conference (ADC) on Saturday, December 3rd. Bulmer’s platform highlighted the growth AMAPCEO has seen over the past few years and his ability to implement the new governance models that Delegates voted to adopt at the Special Delegates’ Conference in June 2016.
“With a balanced and decentralized governance model in place – and a Board of Directors more reflective of our diverse membership – our leadership team may be our strongest ever,” Bulmer said to the crowd of Delegates.
Bulmer, who is AMAPCEO’s third President, will start his second term on January 1st, 2017. He is on full-time leave from his position as a professional educator with the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care in London. He has worked in the Ontario Public Service for 27 years. Before his election as President two years ago, he was Treasurer of AMAPCEO and had served a number of years on the Board of Directors and as a Chapter Chair.
“It now becomes our mission to deliver on our strategic plan priorities,” said Bulmer. “With improved Communications in place, with Education coming to fruition and with Outreach in the form of strong relationships, our focus on the next year will be on building solid Districts and readying ourselves for bargaining in our largest Unit.”
As President, Bulmer will oversee the implementation of a new governance model that was approved last June and will be involved in leading most of AMAPCEO members through their next round of bargaining with the Ontario government.
Delegates also re-elected Chris Harper as Treasurer, one of the four executive officer positions in the organization.
