AMAPCEO President Launches Province-Wide Tour

Update

Monday, January 26, 2015

On Monday, January 26, 2015 in Sudbury, President Dave Bulmer launched a province-wide tour to hear directly from you, the members of AMAPCEO.

The tour will make stops all around the province in different workplaces, and members will be asked a critical question,

“To combat the erosion of good jobs and Ontario’s great public services, what
should your AMAPCEO do in 2015?”

Meeting dates have been confirmed for: Sudbury, North Bay, London, Toronto, Windsor, Ottawa and Kingston etc. Additional meetings will be confirmed shortly.

HOW TO BE PART OF THE CONVERSATION
Members are encouraged to attend a membership meeting in their workplace/area and continue the dialogue on-line via Twitter by including, the #OurAMAPCEO hashtag in personal posts.

BACKGROUND

The tour is an initiative to build a strategic plan charting the future direction for AMAPCEO. Bulmer says, “This is about building our AMAPCEO community, an empowering community of members working together to make a difference.” He added, “Our Association has seen unprecedented mobilization this past year, and now we need to consider our next steps to defend public services and our rights.”

Membership meetings are just one of the initiatives underway to build a plan that tackles the government’s risky public-private partnership schemes, austerity budgeting, and the ongoing attacks on good paying, unionized jobs in Ontario.

We would like to acknowledge Tkaronto, a Mohawk word meaning “the place in the water where the trees are standing.”

The AMAPCEO office is on the traditional unceded territory of Haudenosaunee speaking nations, including the Wendat, Seneca and Mohawk. These nations have been here since time immemorial and were in more recent times joined by the Mississaugas of the Credit.
