Over the past few weeks, many residents have returned to their homes in Fort McMurray, hoping that some parts of their lives before the fire are able to be salvaged.
Air quality issues, access to housing, and the loss of major community resources are all concerns that will have a major impact on the people of Fort McMurray-Wood Buffalo for months to come.
AMAPCEO’s unionized staff are represented by Unifor. Their Union, through their Social Justice Fund has made a $500,000 contribution to the Canadian Red Cross in support of relief efforts, and Unifor members have raised an additional $42,000.
