AMAPCEO’s Board of Directors is meeting this week to conduct the union’s annual strategic planning session. During this concentrated, three-day long session, the Board will provide updates on the union’s progress on key issues and collaborate intensively on next steps going forward.
This year marks the third year of the union’s five-year strategic plan, which charts the future of the union’s four cornerstones—Labour Relations, Member Engagement, Outreach, and Governance and Operations.
“With AMAPCEO now more than halfway through our strategic plan, this year’s update will be crucial, as we see how far we’ve come and what still lies ahead,” said President Dave Bulmer.
This week’s session will also include committee appointments and mandate letters, as well as a review of several the union’s internal policies and programs, including its sponsorships and donations, financial reserves, and workplace representative program.
As part of the annual District review, the Frost / Whitney District was renamed Frost / Wellesley. The boundaries and size of the District remain the same.
The Board will also discuss ongoing activities, including the Alternative Working Arrangement campaign, and the union’s recent advocacy day efforts at Queen’s Park earlier this month. Members should keep their eyes on their inbox for next week’s special advocacy-focused edition of the Member News, which will provide an update to the membership on the union’s recent efforts.
