AMAPCEO is extremely proud to announce that the College of Midwives of Ontario has officially voted to form a union with AMAPCEO with an overwhelming majority.
The College of Midwives of Ontario is an incredibly important regulatory body that helps support the safety of birthing parents and infants by ensuring that members of the midwifery profession in Ontario are qualified, skilled, and competent.
“I want to congratulate the College of Midwives of Ontario on their decision, and to warmly welcome them to AMAPCEO,” said President Dave Bulmer. “The work they do is absolutely vital, and they deserve a strong union representing them in the workplace.”
The College of Midwives of Ontario is now the first unionized regulatory college in Ontario.
In joining AMAPCEO, the College of Midwives of Ontario is joining a union 15,000 professional employees strong that is dedicated to providing outstanding representation and other services to members.
In the coming weeks, AMAPCEO executive and staff will be contacting College of Midwives of Ontario employees regarding information and next steps for onboarding them into the union.
