Elections to be held for Treasurer and for GTA North District Director
In addition to the President, the other executive officer position that is up for election this year is Treasurer. As of the close of nominations last week, three candidates were nominated for Treasurer: Hugh Montgomerie (Jarvis District), Immaculate Nevis (Midtown District), and Damian Suffoletta (College Park District). The election will be held amongst Delegates at the virtual Annual Delegates’ Conference (ADC) on November 25.
If you are a voting Delegate and you have a question you would like to see the candidates answer at the ADC, you can submit it at amapceo.on.ca/treasurer2020.
There will be one election for District Director this term. In GTA North, Kevin Giddings and Rachel Kukulewich are both running. Signed members in that District will soon be able to view candidate statements in their Member Dashboards, and will receive ballots sent to their personal email addresses.
Five District Directors acclaimed
Five of the Board’s District Directors were acclaimed:
Bay Street – Rocco Fasano
Front – Jennifer Harewood
Frost/Whitney – Maryanna Lewyckyj (this is a one-year term)
Midtown – Immaculate Nevis
Western Ontario – Suzanne Conquer
Under AMAPCEO’s governance structure, one-half of the Board positions turn over each year on their two-year terms, so the Vice-President, Secretary, and four other Director positions have terms that continue for another year.
The Northern Ontario District Director position was up for nominations this fall, but no nominations were received. We will be seeking nominations for this position in the coming weeks. Please stay tuned to Member News for more information to come.
