Toronto — The Association of Management, Administrative and Professional Crown Employees of Ontario (AMAPCEO) is announcing its fifth annual essay contest to encourage secondary school students to showcase their ideas on the value of public services in Ontario.
The contest is open to full-time high school students in Ontario. A first prize of $750 will be awarded to the student whose work is judged to be the best by a panel of judges. Second prize is $500 and third prize is $300.
Essays must be 1,250 to 1,500 words in length. The submission deadline is May 22, 2015. Winners will be announced by the end of the summer.
“For the last five years, Ontario secondary school students have impressed us with their knowledge and understanding of the contributions of public services to society and the economy,” said Dave Bulmer, President of AMAPCEO. “Their essays have been insightful and articulate and reflect a passionate engagement with the big social issues that affect our lives.”
