The AMAPCEO Board of Directors is meeting this week for the union’s annual strategic planning session. These focused, comprehensive sessions allow Board members to come together to reflect on the work of the past year and brainstorm priorities for the months to come.
During this year’s session, the AMAPCEO Board will receive updates on progress made in year two of the five-year plan for the future of the union’s four cornerstones—Labour Relations, Member Engagement, Outreach, and Governance and Operations— as well as conduct several policy discussions on topical issues of interest to the union.
Some of those policy discussions centre on diversity, equity, and inclusion, with one being an update on the ongoing development of AMAPCEO’s Anti-Racism Plan, and the other a look ahead at the future of the union’s Equity Caucuses.
The Board will also review the Workplace Representative program and its recruitment plan. Directors will provide the group with updates on the Board Working Groups and Special Committees to which they belong.
Finally, the Board will appraise the union’s financial commitments, including its Environmental and Social Governance policies and scholarships and donations and activist investing programs.
“These annual strategic planning sessions are invaluable to our Directors, who have the opportunity to share feedback from the members they represent, and bring what they learn back to their Districts,” said President Dave Bulmer. “I’m so pleased to be able to hold them safely in person again.”
