AMAPCEO is the newest member of Public Services International (PSI) after the union’s application was approved last month.
Founded in 1907, PSI is a global federation of unions whose members work in public administration, providing service and utility delivery and professional analysis for governments around the world.
AMAPCEO’s 14,000 members join PSI’s 30 million members from 700 other affiliates, who together, represent 154 countries. Other Canadian members include SPGQ (AMAPCEO’s sister union in Quebec), CUPE, COPE, ACFO, SEIU, and the component unions of NUPGE.
AMAPCEO’s affiliation with PSI makes for its latest partnership with like-minded professional organizations. In addition to its ‘Union Bosses’ network with fellow OPS bargaining agents and the Professional Unions Network of Canada (PUNC), this relationship will give AMAPCEO the opportunity to share with and learn from similar international unions.
