After lengthy negotiations by the Bargaining Team and powerful activism from the membership, AMAPCEO’s Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontario (IPC) unit voted to ratify their landmark first Collective Agreement.
Effective from April 2025 through March 2028, the agreement includes:
- across-the-board salary increases
- improvements to merit pay provisions
- additional vacation days and holidays
- foundational union protections, including a dispute resolution procedure and the presence of Workplace Representatives in the workplace
- and more.
Members at IPC successfully organized their workplace with AMAPCEO in 2023.
“With bargaining stretching over three years, this was an incredibly challenging first contract to negotiate,” said AMAPCEO President Dave Bulmer.
“The Employer fought us at every turn. But Bargaining Team members Jenny Ryu and Anna Truong, and staff supports Aleksandra Osvald, Benjamin Rossiter, and James van Manen, held firm.”
“They were supported by an engaged membership who showed up and participated in actions throughout the process. Together, they secured a strong first contract.”
