Update

Wednesday, March 26, 2025

On Monday, March 24, AMAPCEO, in partnership with Franco.Noire, sponsored an event attended by the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario and students from Béatrice-Desloges Catholic Secondary School to honour La Journée Internationale de la Francophonie (International Francophonie Day).

The event provided the students with an insight into careers in public service while also highlighting the rich cultural tapestry of the Francophone community. AMAPCEO President Dave Bulmer and Vice-President Cynthia Watt were both in attendance, as were members of the AMAPCEO Francophone Caucus.

Take a moment to read last week’s interview between Cynthia Watt and Francophone Caucus Chair Vincent Lavigne and Vice-Chair Mohamed Boudjenane to hear their perspectives on the importance of this week’s event and of participating in the Caucus.

We would like to acknowledge Tkaronto, a Mohawk word meaning “the place in the water where the trees are standing.”

The AMAPCEO office is on the traditional unceded territory of Haudenosaunee speaking nations, including the Wendat, Seneca and Mohawk. These nations have been here since time immemorial and were in more recent times joined by the Mississaugas of the Credit.
