After months of pressure, AMAPCEO has secured a commitment from the Ontario Public Service (OPS) Employer on how and when the $200 increase to members’ Healthcare Spending Account (HCSA)—negotiated as part of the 2025–2028 Collective Agreement—will be implemented.
The OPS Employer will share details with employees on this implementation next week via email or an update on the OPS Intranet.
An adjustment will be made for the timeframe spanning April 1, 2025, to December 31, 2025, with the new amount, $725, implemented effective January 1, 2026, and in 2027 and 2028 after that.
While AMAPCEO is pleased members will soon be able to access the negotiated increase to their HCSAs, we are frustrated it took this long for the Employer to agree to an implementation plan.
A contract is a contract. And AMAPCEO members ratified ours in August.
The HCSA is an essential part of OPS members’ compensation. First introduced in 2022, its value has grown steadily to $725, effective April 1, 2025. The HCSA’s flexibility increases member access to healthcare by improving the affordability of treatment.
AMAPCEO will continue to fight to ensure that our members get what they are owed—on time.
