- Hosting two large-scale Blanket Exercises for activists and staff

Union Category Award
This award recognizes AMAPCEO’s leadership in developing and implementing a comprehensive Anti-Racism Action Plan, building on a long-standing commitment to equity.
At the 2021 Annual Delegates’ Conference (ADC), Delegates approved a resolution brought forward by the Black Caucus calling on AMAPCEO to develop an anti-racism plan. Work began in 2022 with support from ROCK Diversity. In April 2023, the Anti-Racism, Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity Working Group was established by the Board to develop the union’s three-year anti-racism plan. The plan was approved by the Board of Directors in October 2023.
The plan’s two key priorities are to clarify the union’s anti‑racism position and objectives, and to support and inspire members, activists, and leaders to become champions of anti‑racism.
Now in its third year, the plan includes more than 50 concrete actions to be completed by the end of this year. To ensure that the plan remains relevant and responsive, it is reviewed annually by the Board of Directors alongside AMAPCEO’s broader strategic plan, priorities and actions.
This award recognizes both the strength of the plan and AMAPCEO’s ongoing, measurable progress in advancing equity and human rights.
This achievement was made possible through the leadership of the Steering Committee, which oversaw the development of AMAPCEO’s first Anti-Racism Action Plan.
The Steering Committee members are:
- Dave Bulmer – President, AMAPCEO
- Jennifer Harewood – Board Director (Front District)
- Jean Paul Ngana – Former Board Director (Bay District)
- Monica Resnik – Executive Coordinator, Office of the Chief Operating Officer
- Rob Smalley - Chief Operating Officer and Director, Labour Relations Services
- Tim Sim – Former Board Director (Mid-town District), Former Chair, Indigenous Circle, Board Secretary
- Cynthia Watt - Chair, Equity Committee and Vice-President, AMAPCEO
