AMAPCEO is proud to be a sponsor of the 2022 Mayworks Festival, and to co-present the Mayworks Festival’s free virtual screenings of the film Company Town and the post-screening panel discussion, "Just Transitions."
Company Town is a film by Peter Findlay documenting Oshawa union workers’ 2020 fight to save their members' jobs when General Motors announced it would be closing the plant at the end of the following year. The film will be followed by "Just Transitions," a “panel discussion on lessons learned from labour organizing against extractive industry and imperialism.”
The Mayworks Festival commissions, curates, and presents projects for an annual multidisciplinary arts festival dedicated to reflecting the reality of working people’s lives and furthering the struggle for better working and living conditions.
