AMAPCEO leadership condemns the cowardly attack at a Quebec City mosque on Sunday that has killed six people, injured more than a dozen, and has shaken the lives of people around the world.
“I want our Muslim members to know that AMAPCEO supports their right to feel safe at work, at home, and wherever their daily lives might take them,” President Dave Bulmer said. “Our union’s 13,250 members stand in solidarity with Canada’s Muslim communities. As a part of our country’s labour movement, we’re committed to fighting for social justice and equity for all, and that includes standing up against heinous acts of hatred and violence. Our thoughts are with those affected by this horrifying incident.”
AMAPCEO members can show your support for our Muslim communities by attending vigils, speaking out against hate, and reaching out to affected co-workers, friends, and neighbours.
- AMAPCEO also has Equity Caucuses dedicated to creating and protecting safe and diverse workplaces. You can join an Equity Caucus at amapceo.on.ca/equity.html.
