Update

Wednesday, April 29, 2026

Earlier this month, the Board of Directors approved the creation of the AMAPCEO Jewish Caucus. Information on the Jewish Caucus can be found at amapceo.ca/equity/caucuses/jewishcaucus.

AMAPCEO’s equity caucus model is designed to create space for demographically and culturally similar AMAPCEO members to build community, support other members, and provide alternative routes into activist roles for under-represented equity groups. AMAPCEO's Board of Directors is committed to advancing equity and inclusive representation in our governance structures and throughout all aspects of our union.

For more information on AMAPCEO’s Equity Caucuses, including on how to join or form a caucus, please see amapceo.ca/equity/caucuses.

AMAPCEO is pleased to be able to welcome the Jewish Caucus in time for May, which is Jewish Heritage Month.

Established by the government of Ontario in 2012 and the federal government in 2018, Jewish Heritage Month is an opportunity to recognize and honour the bravery, resilience, and fight for human rights that Jewish communities have shown throughout history, and to learn about the significant contributions Jewish Canadians have made in the Canada for close to 250 years.

We would like to acknowledge Tkaronto, a Mohawk word meaning “the place in the water where the trees are standing.”

The AMAPCEO office is on the traditional unceded territory of Haudenosaunee speaking nations, including the Wendat, Seneca and Mohawk. These nations have been here since time immemorial and were in more recent times joined by the Mississaugas of the Credit.
