AMAPCEO has won an increase in payments for those OPS members who are on long-term sick leave for the 2014 calendar year, following a recent hearing on our policy dispute at the Grievance Settlement Board.
The ruling means that, instead of receiving a zero per cent increase for 2014, LTIP members will receive 2.4% based on the increase in the Ontario consumer price index (CPI) for 2014. In the last round of bargaining, the annual increase for LTIP members was changed from the CPI index to one that matched to the wage increase for active members. The dispute centred on an interpretation as to when the change was to become effective.
