A group of AMAPCEO members raising money to sponsor a refugee family have nearly met their financial target of over $40,000! The group from the Ministry of Citizenship and Immigration, along with their friends and family, have been matched with a refugee family of five – a single mother and four children between the ages of 13 and 28. They will welcome the family to Canada and provide regular assistance for their first year in the country.
With under $10,000 left to complete their goal, there’s still time to donate before the family arrives in the next few months. We encourage all AMAPCEO members to extend their support if they have not already done so!
The group is raising money through the Mennonite Central Committee, an organization experienced in refugee sponsorship that issues charitable receipts for every donation made. You can donate to the family’s resettlement on the group’s fundraising page.
Thank you to all AMAPCEO members who have joined thousands of other Canadians in answering the call to help resettle Syrian refugees.
