Members on contract receive update via June webinar

AMAPCEO members with fixed-term, temporary, or contract status gathered virtually earlier this month for a webinar covering a wide range of topics.

The webinar featured President Dave Bulmer, Vice-President Cynthia Watt, and AMAPCEO staff Emma Landy (Dispute Resolution Officer) and Samara Carroll (Labour Relations Specialist).

Highlights from the webinar include:

OPS bargaining update

Bulmer discussed current negotiations with the OPS Employer. With negotiations still on pause, he told members to be ready to support the bargaining team and to be ready for future actions. During the pause, AMAPCEO continued workplace actions across the districts.

Review of conversion to permanent provisions

Understandably, a conversion to permanent remains top-of-mind for most contract staff. AMAPCEO has negotiated strong provisions for conversion (or “rollover”) to permanent in each collective agreement. These provisions were reviewed on the webinar.
