Jason Gartshore leaving District, staying with AMAPCEO

former Director Jason Gartshore
Update

Tuesday, June 15, 2021

After three and a half years on the AMAPCEO Board of Directors, Jason Gartshore is resigning from his role as the District Director for Eastern Ontario. Taking a new role with the Ministry of Health, Gartshore will remain an AMAPCEO member, but will work out of the GTA North District.

With experience as a Delegate, Workplace Representative, and Employee Relations Committee Representative, Gartshore played a key role in building engagement in the Eastern Ontario District at a community level even before being elected to the Board in 2017—no small feat in a geographically disparate District.

President Dave Bulmer says Gartshore’s new role will be a loss for his home community, and that the move is bittersweet:

“Jason’s contributions to the Board have been invaluable. I know his thoughtful, community-oriented approach to leadership will be sorely missed in his former District. We’re grateful to still have him in AMAPCEO. In fact, now that he’ll be working in Toronto part-time, I hope to see him in the union office even more!”

Gartshore will vacate the Director role June 25, 2021. Nominations for this position are now open and will close on June 30, 2021 at noon ET. For more information, see Elections & Appointments.

We would like to acknowledge Tkaronto, a Mohawk word meaning “the place in the water where the trees are standing.”

The AMAPCEO office is on the traditional unceded territory of Haudenosaunee speaking nations, including the Wendat, Seneca and Mohawk. These nations have been here since time immemorial and were in more recent times joined by the Mississaugas of the Credit.
