AMAPCEO’s Executive Committee and its Chief Operating Officer, Rob Smalley, are pleased to announce the appointment of Jennifer Sherwood to the position of Director of Membership Services. Jennifer was the successful candidate in an open competition held in late August.
Jennifer has worked at AMAPCEO for ten years—seven as a Labour Relations Specialist, and the last three as Team Lead of Member Engagement. Over the past year, her Team Lead duties expanded to include Education.
As Team Lead, she has led a team of six in delivering member engagement, education, district support, elections, ALF and ADC events, outreach tours, and workplace organizing. Jennifer has overseen OPS collective bargaining mobilization, managed AMAPCEO’s democratic processes as primary staff resource to the Elections Committee since 2010, acted as staff lead for all Delegates’ Conferences since 2012, was a chief architect of our new District boundaries, and a key member of the Board’s Governance Working Group that drove the successful overhaul of our governance model.
Before joining AMAPCEO, Jennifer worked as a caucus researcher with the House of Commons in Ottawa, and as a caseworker/social worker with the Saskatchewan Public Service and several social service agencies in the province. She has been active as a member of CEP, SGEU, and the SFL, including as a chief steward, bargaining chair, and as a member of committees. Jennifer earned a Master of Social Work from Carleton University, a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Regina, and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon.
Jennifer has since taken on her new duties with the search for a new Team Lead already underway. Please join us in congratulating her on her new role.
