Update

Wednesday, March 06, 2024

AMAPCEO began 2024 with positive developments. From securing a Bill 124 remedy for members in the Ontario Public Service (OPS) that totals 9.5% over three years in arbitration to having the government repeal this unconstitutional bill entirely, the start of the year was highlighted with a hard-fought victory that came from a long-drawn-out battle over the last four years.

Now it’s critical that the OPS Employer applies the remedy—especially retroactive pay—accurately. Fellow public servants at the Treasury Board Secretariat (TBS) are working on these complex calculations for affected members now, and management at TBS has told AMAPCEO they expect to complete this work by the end of April.

AMAPCEO will continue to keep members updated on the progress, and the union will post a Frequently Asked Questions about the Bill 124 remedy for OPS members on its website and in Member News next week.
