Just days after AMAPCEO successfully pushed back on the Ontario Public Service (OPS) Employer’s plans to bring more members back to the workplace, the OPS Employer has announced that it is delaying their Gradual Reopening of Ontario Workplaces (GROW) plans until at least late January.
President Dave Bulmer said, “We applaud the common sense shown by our senior leaders at Treasury Board. Given the case numbers, this was an absolute no-brainer. In the new year, our focus will shift to pushing the return out to the spring and closer to available medications.”
AMAPCEO reminds members currently working remotely that the union has negotiated that the Employer must send a minimum two-week notice period for any return to the workplace. The union also continues to advocate that any returns are done cautiously, gradually, and as flexibly as possible.
Further, AMAPCEO is reviewing individual Ministry plans for workplace reopening and will strive to ensure the health and safety of members is paramount.
