Nearly a hundred Ontario Public Service (OPS) members on fixed-term or contract status joined President Dave Bulmer, Vice-President Cynthia Watt, and OPS Bargaining Team Chair Paula Wallingford for a webinar last week.
On the webinar, Bulmer and Watt expressed their relief that the return to the workplace will be more gradual than the OPS Employer had announced at the beginning of the month, and assured members that the union continues to advocate for stronger health and safety measures to help keep AMAPCEO members safe at work.
Wallingford provided a brief update on talks at the bargaining table, and reminded attendees that showing the Employer that our union is strong and united is one of the best tools to securing a fairer contract.
The union is currently encouraging members to use one of five virtual backgrounds for all work calls and to take them with their cameras on.
Bulmer, Watt, and Wallingford also took members’ questions on the return to the workplace plan, bargaining, and how fixed-term, temporary, and contract members are affected. Many members pledged to take workplace actions to support their bargaining team and further strengthen AMAPCEO’s position at the bargaining table.
