Note: This is a revision of the June 3rd Update
If you are an AMAPCEO-represented employee in the OPS bargaining unit and believe you are entitled to a prorated merit payout for the performance evaluation period between April 1st, 2013 and March 31st, 2014, please read the following update.
Prior to contacting the AMAPCEO office, please ensure that you can answer the following questions:
- Were you at the maximum of your salary range prior to October 1, 2013?
- Did you receive new salary "head room" with the implementation of Job Evaluation on October 1, 2013?
- Were you awarded a prorated merit on April 2, 2014 (e.g. – 1.5% instead of 3%)?
- What is your WIN number?
- What percentage was your prorated merit (e.g. 1.5%) award on April 1, 2014?
- What reason were you given by OSS for being deemed ineligible?
AMAPCEO has reiterated its ongoing concerns with the WIN system -- and the Employer’s ability to accurately determine who is eligible for payment. If you believe you are entitled to a payment, and if you did not receive one on either the June 4th or the June 18th pay date, please contact the OPS Ontario Shared Services Contact Centre at:
Phone: 416-326-9300 or 1-866-979-9300 (toll free);
TTY/Teletypewriter: 416-327-3851, or 1-866-310-7259 (toll free).
Should you be informed that you are not eligible, yet continue to believe that you are, contact the AMAPCEO Workplace Advisor designated for your ministry; review the Workplace Advisor listing for contact information, or call the AMAPCEO office at 416-595-9000 (or toll free at 1-888-262-7236) for assistance.
As previously reported, the prorated merit payout is the result of an AMAPCEO filed dispute dating back to April 2014. After unsuccessfully attempting to reach an informal resolution with the employer, the dispute was sent to the Grievance Settlement Board where a decision was issued on March 3rd, 2015. The Board concluded that the OPS employer “violated the collective agreement” by unilaterally deciding to prorate merit.
