Members will recall that as a result of AMAPCEO’s unrelenting advocacy at ACERC (AMAPCEO Central Employee Relations Committee) and during negotiation of the 2018 OPS Collective Agreement (June 2017) that our hard work culminated in the termination of the distrustful and punitive Attendance Support Management Program (ASMP) effective January 1, 2018.
With the old (ASMP) on its way out, the new (Employee Attendance Support Program) is being ushered in – and our work defending our members’ interests continues.
Members will be aware that the OPS Employer has released its new EASP Policy and that it can be accessed within the OPS Intranet. We encourage members to familiarize themselves with its content. Notably, the Employer has yet to unveil the accompanying programming details that will outline how the policy is to be carried out at the local level. While AMAPCEO continues to press the Employer to release those details as soon as possible – we are very pleased to share with our members that our ACERC team has reached a settlement with the OPS Employer that will see 99.9% of our membership be afforded a completely fresh start as of January 1, 2018!
If you know yourself to have not entered in to the ASMP at all, or to have only attained Level 1, 2, or 3 status within it, please consider yourself as having started 2018 afresh.
If you have reason to believe you may be in Level 4, legitimately or otherwise, please contact our office and leave your name with a Workplace Advisor for your Ministry. Once the Employer provides us the names of affected members, estimated at less than 10 in total, we will follow up with them and anyone else who inquires. In the meantime, AMAPCEO will continue its best efforts until such time as all of our members are provided a fair and respectable resolution.
