Yesterday was truly one for the history books.
AMAPCEO members gathered at Whitney Block in Toronto and in seven parallel demonstrations across Ontario to say it loud and clear: remote work works.

I am incredibly proud to report that the Toronto rally, attended by hundreds of AMAPCEO members, marks our biggest demonstration in over a decade. It was a tremendous display of our solidarity and strength.
With a staggering 13,000 signed copies of our petition to the Secretary of Cabinet assembled behind us, ready to deliver, AMAPCEO members turned out, showed up, and stood together.
We also stood shoulder-to-shoulder with our fellow public sector workers. I was honoured to be joined by their leaders and representatives: ALOC President Dan Guttman, OCAA President Donna Kellway, OPSEU-OPS Unified Bargaining Chair Amanda Usher, and PEGO President Nihar Bhatt, who all shared their words of solidarity and encouragement.

We made it clear that we will not allow the Secretary of Cabinet to drag us—Ontario’s trusted and hard-working professionals—back to the Stone Age.
We waved our flags and signs, made some noise, and shared our stories about why remote work works.
We said it works for employees, by providing greater work-life balance and improving mental health.
It works for communities, by reducing the burden on roads and public transit, while increasing opportunities to volunteer and support local business.

It works for the workplace, by enhancing productivity and freeing up resources and space for those that actually need them.
And it works for taxpayers, by saving money that can be invested to provide Ontarians quality public services.
AMAPCEO members stood together and stood our ground—and the whole province took notice. Stories about our rally have appeared in media outlets including CBC, CityNews, CTV and the Globe and Mail.
And the hundreds gathered in Toronto were not the only story.
AMAPCEO members throughout the province also took to the streets to say remote work works across Ontario.
They showed that remote work works in Guelph and Kingston and Oshawa. It works in Peterborough and St. Catharines and Sudbury and Timmons. It works anywhere an AMAPCEO member is.
Because for the past fifteen years, AMAPCEO members have been working for Ontario—from anywhere.
And we have no intention of stopping.
Rest assured that AMAPCEO will harness the solidarity and strength we all showed yesterday and continue to fight for flexibility for members who want it. We will continue to show that remote work works.
Stronger together,

Dave Bulmer
President/CEO
