Retroactive across-the-board increases have been implemented for most AMAPCEO members currently employed at the Ontario Public Service (OPS), the OPS Employer has confirmed.
Additionally, at AMAPCEO’s urging, the Employer created a new Across-the-Board Rate Increases and Retroactive Pay report, showing how payments were calculated, which is available in WIN.
AMAPCEO members are encouraged to review this report to confirm its accuracy. If for some reason there is an error in your retroactive payment calculation, or if payment is outstanding, we encourage you to log a ticket with the OPS Service Centre.
The remaining group with retroactive payments owing are the AMAPCEO members who acted outside of the bargaining unit (e.g. in a MCP position) between April 1, 2022, and July 18, 2024. Implementation of retroactive pay for other groups, including those in management excluded positions, is still ongoing. As a result, AMAPCEO members who have acted in a position outside AMAPCEO may not have received their retroactive pay yet. Once pay has been processed for these groups, AMAPCEO members acting in these positions should also receive their retroactive pay and be able to view their calculation report.
Retroactive pay for former AMAPCEO-represented employees, including those who have retired, will be implemented after all active employees have received their retroactive payments, which is currently slated to be completed by the fall.
The yearlong Bill 124 remedy process that has ensued since AMAPCEO first achieved an arbitrated decision in January 2024, has been a test of AMAPCEO members’ patience and perseverance. Beginning with our “No More Pay Delays” campaign last spring, AMAPCEO has pushed the Employer every step of the way, encouraging them to not only make payments faster, but to improve transparency with AMAPCEO members.
Rest assured, AMAPCEO will continue to pressure the Employer to process payments for those acting in positions outside AMAPCEO and for those who have moved on from the OPS.
