Bay Street District donates to Out of the Cold

For more than 20 years, Out of the Cold has provided warmth and prepared meals to people without shelter. They rely on donations from individuals and organizations to purchase raw food, which in turn, is prepared by more than 80 volunteers. Volunteers also serve the guests at their tables and help run a boutique where guests can find toiletries, as well as new and gently used clothing.

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the program has had to restructure by providing a take-away breakfast on Tuesday and Friday mornings. These breakfasts are providing an opportunity to touch base with over 100 guests while our city physically distances. The program plans to continue to adapt as things change.

AMAPCEO’s Bay Street District has donated $1,000 from their local budget to support the Out of the Cold program and to show appreciation for the workers and volunteers helping Ontario’s most vulnerable people.

North Bay Community donates to Hope Awaits

Hope Awaits provides homeless shelter to men in need, along with life skills programs designed to equip individuals with skills they need to be self-sufficient and to be able to live a healthy balanced lifestyle.

AMAPCEOs North Bay Community – a part of the greater Northern District has donated $150 from their local budget to support the Hope Awaits program and to show appreciation for the workers and volunteers helping Ontario’s most vulnerable people.

We would like to acknowledge Tkaronto, a Mohawk word meaning “the place in the water where the trees are standing.”

The AMAPCEO office is on the traditional unceded territory of Haudenosaunee speaking nations, including the Wendat, Seneca and Mohawk. These nations have been here since time immemorial and were in more recent times joined by the Mississaugas of the Credit.
