Biography
Alex first joined the OPS and AMAPCEO on a fixed term contract following a successful transition out of the summer experience program in 2011. A few years later he quickly learned the value of the union when arguing his case for conversion to the regular service under the terms of the collective agreement. He has since grown his leadership skills to secure his current role as the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Agribusiness’s Strategic Modernization Lead, focusing on his unit’s work in regulatory service delivery improvements.
Alex has become a more progressively involved activist with the union, having participated in his union's governance first as a Delegate, then a workplace representative helping members with workplace issues, vice chair of his district executive, and now as Director. He’s also a proud member of AMAPCEO’s Pride caucus.
Alex credits past Western District Director, Suzanne Conquer, for encouraging his activism and passion for AMAPCEO’s governance.
Outside of work Alex enjoys spending time with friends and family, traveling, reading, and gardening at home in Kitchener, Ontario.
