Movie Night!

Toronto City Council staffers, who voted to form a union with AMAPCEO in spring 2025, are hosting a short film movie night!

These thought-provoking short films will focus on workers and the past and future of work. The content is generously provided by the Canadian Labour International Film Festival (CLiFF) in celebration of Labour Film Month. 

Thursday, November 13, 2025  

6 pm–9 pm
RSVP for the location (which is fully accessible).

Please RSVP below by Wednesday, November 12 at 3 pm.

We'll screen the following short films:

  • COVID Sourdough
  • Ghost Workers
  • Shadow Work
  • They Called It The Butcher Shop: The Fleck Strike In Images
  • Union and University
  • Working for Freedom

Each attendee should register individually. Please note the event is intended for City Council staffers. Attendees who do not RSVP or who are not employees may not be granted entry.

We would like to acknowledge Tkaronto, a Mohawk word meaning “the place in the water where the trees are standing.”

The AMAPCEO office is on the traditional unceded territory of Haudenosaunee speaking nations, including the Wendat, Seneca and Mohawk. These nations have been here since time immemorial and were in more recent times joined by the Mississaugas of the Credit.
