Your AMAPCEO Bargaining Team and the OAC Employer have reached a tentative agreement on a new contract to run retroactively to 2022 and through to 2025. Your bargaining team is unanimously recommending ratification.
The following is a summary of highlights only.
Term
A three-year contract from April 1, 2022 until March 31, 2025
Salary increases
Across-the-board salary increases of 3%, 3.5%, and 3% over those respective years, applied retroactively.
Improvements to benefits
Effective April 1, 2024, the tentative agreement increases paramedical per-visit coverage caps for:
- massage and physiotherapy from $35 to $100 per visit
- services of a psychologist/social worker/psychotherapist from $40 to $60 per half hour
Work/life balance wins
The tentative agreement:
- allows members to telework on Mondays and Fridays. The Employer will not increase the number of mandatory days in the office during the term of this collective agreement.
- a new time limit on management responses to Alternative Work Arrangement requests, with a requirement for a detailed written rationale if the request is denied
Improvements to Leave
The tentative agreement:
- secures six paid days of leave for staff in fixed-term positions
- extends the parental leave EI top-up by 5 weeks
Job security and workplace improvements
The tentative agreement:
- will increase the layoff notice period from 12 to 14 weeks
- will establish a new joint equity committee to address equity issues in the workplace by reviewing existing policies and practices and making recommendations on how to remove any identified barriers
