Highlights
Your AMAPCEO Bargaining Team and the Waypoint Employer have reached a tentative agreement on a new contract to run retroactively to 2023 and through to 2026. Your bargaining team is unanimously recommending ratification.
The following is a summary of highlights only.
Term
A three-year contract from April 1, 2023 until March 31, 2026.
Salary increases & pay grid
Across-the-board retroactive salary increases of 3.5% effective April 1, 2023, and 3% effective April 1, 2024. For April 1, 2025, AMAPCEO represented Waypoint employees will receive the wage increase negotiated by OPSEU local 329.
Spiritual Care Providers will be reclassified to Level 4.
The maximum salary cap will be increased by 1.75% for all positions that require or prefer a regulated health profession or regulatory body membership. (Spiritual Care Providers, Lead Quality & Patient Safety, Clinical Coordinator, Clinical Liaison Officer)
Improvements to benefits
The tentative agreement increases paramedical per-visit coverage caps for:
- vision benefits increase from $400 to $450
- an increase from $35 to $50 to the per-visit coverage caps for acupuncturist, chiropractor, osteopath, naturopath, podiatrist, chiropodist, physiotherapist, and registered massage therapist
- an increase from $40 to $55 per half-hour to the per-visit coverage cap for speech therapist and psychologist
- pregnancy and parental leave will be available to 32 weeks at 93% of pay
Work/life balance wins
Regarding Alternative Work Arrangements (AWAs):
- managers must now provide 6 weeks of notice to amend or cancel an alternative work arrangement
- managers must respond to written AWA requests in a timely manner, and that if the AWA request is denied, they must provide a written rationale
All AMAPCEO-represented members are entitled to 2 paid personal days.
National Day for Truth and Reconciliation has been added to the list of holidays.
Improvements to leave provisions for union roles.
Regarding on call & call back:
- Memorandum of Understanding that used to apply to Spiritual Care Providers only now expanded to everyone and included in the collective agreement
- Pay for call back increased from time and a half to double time
Job security and workplace improvements
The tentative agreement will:
- reduce the probation period from 12 months to 6 months for new employees.
