Earlier today, AMAPCEO activists from the Ontario Public Service (OPS) wore blue at the OPS Activist Conference to stand together for better and support the Bargaining Team!

On Thursday May 14, select OPS activists gathered at the Hilton Hotel in Toronto for the OPS Activist Conference to explore AMAPCEO’s historic campaigns and wins, and the current economic and political climate that informs bargaining.

Aimed at preparing activists for this round of OPS bargaining, the conference presented panel discussions on previous mobilization efforts, and on past, present, and future bargaining table scenarios. OPS activists also experienced hands-on skill building sessions, workshops that focussed on the work of connecting with members, building AMAPCEO’s activist base, and organizing and leading bargaining actions in the workplace. The conference wrapped up with a presentation from guest speaker and spoken word artist Greg Frankson.

We would like to acknowledge Tkaronto, a Mohawk word meaning “the place in the water where the trees are standing.”

The AMAPCEO office is on the traditional unceded territory of Haudenosaunee speaking nations, including the Wendat, Seneca and Mohawk. These nations have been here since time immemorial and were in more recent times joined by the Mississaugas of the Credit.
