The Board of Directors has undergone a couple of changes over the summer months. As noted in June, former Frost Wellesley Director, Maryanna Lewyckyj, submitted her resignation after a lengthy tenure. We are pleased to report that Matthias Nunno has since been acclaimed to the role with a term extending through 2023. Matthias first became a Delegate in 2022 and has been a member of AMAPCEO’s Indigenous Circle and Young Workers’ Caucus since 2021.
More recently, GTA North Director, Kevin Giddings who has been a member of the Board since 2019, gave notice of his intent to take a 6-month leave of absence to pursue a professional development opportunity outside of his home district. Between September and March 2024, Kevin will be replaced by GTA North District Vice Chair, Tanya Companion.
In addition to her role as Vice Chair; Tanya became a Workplace Representative and a Health & Safety Representative in 2022 having served previously in both roles for several years as an OPSEU member. Tanya is also a member of AMAPCEO’s central Health & Safety Committee.
The Board wishes Kevin all the best and awaits his potential return in 2024 (a by-election will ensue should he not) and will welcome Matthias and Tanya formally when both take part in their first regularly scheduled Board meeting in late September.
