The final version of the 2025-2028 OPS Collective Agreement is now available at amapceo.ca/OPS
As a reminder, your new OPS collective agreement includes:
- Respectable wage increases: A total compensation increase of 7% over three years, ensuring fair growth for all members.
- Defending flexible work despite RTO challenges: The government’s RTO edict has created significant challenges and thrown the OPS into turmoil. Because we stood strong together during bargaining, your new Collective Agreement has preserved your right to request an alternative work arrangement, have that request considered in good faith, and dispute any denial. As part of our Remote Work Works campaign, we have been putting these rights to use, fiercely defending the right to request remote work via union-wide, individual, and group disputes.
- Enhanced health benefits: Significant improvements, including a 38% increase to the annual Health Care Spending Account (an additional $200 per year) and expanded mental health coverage to better support your well-being.
- Improved fairness for fixed-term employees: Immediate access to five days of vacation and attendance credits, ensuring greater equity from day one.
National Day for Truth and Reconciliation (NDTR)
Unfortunately, the Collective Agreement does not include explicit recognition of the NDTR as a designated paid holiday. Despite extensive and time-consuming discussions with the Employer, they remain unwilling to add the day to the list of paid holidays to any OPS collective agreement. Regardless, annual paid holiday observation of the NDTR remains part of the collective agreement. In future rounds of bargaining, we will continue efforts to codify the observance.
