Section: 4 - Financial Matters
Subsection: 4B - Donations and Sponsorships Policies
Created: March 2015 |Last Revised: April 2021
Purpose
To outline AMAPCEO’s approach in considering requests for sponsorships.
Policy
AMAPCEO will support organizations that help to provide research or communications that counter the ongoing attacks on unions and public opinion and/or decision makers or provide opportunities to raise public and/or stakeholder awareness about AMAPCEO.
When a sponsorship opportunity arises, or when AMAPCEO receives a request, the request should be brought forward to the Strategic Advisor to the President/CEO for consideration and assessment.
Procedures
-
For an expenditure up to $10,000, the Strategic Advisor to the President/CEO may make a recommendation to the Executive Committee on whether to enter into an agreement to sponsor an event or organization.
-
For an expenditure of more than $10,000, the Strategic Advisor to the President/CEO may make a recommendation to the Board of Directors on whether to enter into an agreement to sponsor an event or organization.
In making such decisions, the Strategic Advisor to the President/CEO, Executive Committee, and Board of Directors should consider whether and to what extent the organization or event supports our stated objectives and whether the expenditure is available within the year’s budget. If funds are not allocated in the budget, they may be reallocated in accordance with AMAPCEO’s Budget Offset Policy.
All approved sponsorships with amounts will be included in the Board Annual Report to the Delegates.
